- Care instructions for this puppy appear below, and we are not responsible for hypoglycemia or any other illnesses or
conditions, physical or otherwise, caused by failure to follow the care instructions provided.  
o        First, your puppy is a dog, not a baby.  Treat him like a dog.  That means understanding the nature of the dog as a pack
animal, and establishing yourself as the leader of his pack.  Contact us if you need more information on this.
o        Before your puppy comes home, establish a schedule for feeding and potty breaks that your family can enforce.  Your
puppy should be fed at least twice a day and have regular potty breaks, one to follow immediately after feeding, one after the
puppy has been left alone for more than an hour, one upon waking in the morning, and one just before bed at night.
o        Crate train your puppy.  Dogs are “den” animals.  They feel safe and secure in their crates, and a crate will be a valuable
tool for both you and your puppy.  Crate training should begin immediately, and the most effective way to crate train is to
reward calm behavior and completely ignore unwanted behavior.  In a matter of days, your puppy should be completely
comfortable with his crate.  
o        Establish clear rules and boundaries for your puppy from the start.  He wants to do what is expected of him, but if he
doesn’t know what that is, he can’t do it.  
o        Limit your puppy’s access to your house and yard.  A puppy should never have full run of the house or yard.  He needs
a confined space that he can call his own to be safe and content.  As he grows, once house training is complete, you can allow
him to have more freedom in your house and yard, but he should always have a smaller space in the house where he can retreat.
o        Keep a tube of Nutri-Cal and a package of moist (canned) food on hand at all times until your puppy is at least sixteen
weeks old, to be used in the event that your puppy experiences hypoglycemia.  
o        Take your puppy outside daily.  Never take a puppy under four months of age to dog parks or other public places
frequented by dogs, but you should take him out in your own grassy space at least once a day, even if you are using puppy
pads for potty training in the house.  
o        Never punish your puppy for accidents.  Puppies simply cannot process this type of behavior from humans.  Instead,
reward wanted behavior and ignore unwanted behavior.  Most behaviors that are ignored and illicit no response from humans
eventually disappear.  
o        Finish your puppy’s vaccination series.  Your puppy should have three vaccines, one or two of which he will have had
while in our care.  It is your job to complete the series, including the rabies vaccine, following the advice of your veterinarian.  
o        Give your puppy the NuVet Vitamin Supplements we use.  Purchase the powder, or crush up the wafers, and mix it with
a little yogurt or wet food to give as a small daily treat.  To order the vitamins, use the phone number on the brochure we

-        We are not responsible for conditions caused by neglect or abuse, and will require immediate return of this puppy under
such conditions to avoid notification of the proper local authorities.

-        We guarantee that this puppy is healthy and free of life-threatening congenital defect at the time of pickup or shipping.  It
is mandatory that you take the puppy to a veterinarian within 3 business days of pickup or shipping.  Failure to take this puppy
to a veterinarian within 3 business days may void all warranties.  Should this puppy be found physically unsuitable due to illness
or defect, we will replace the puppy with the next available puppy of equal purchase price upon receipt of a statement from
your vet detailing the puppy’s condition and return of the puppy.

-        We warranty this puppy against life-threatening genetic defects for two years from the puppy’s date of birth.  We will
replace the puppy with the next available puppy of equal purchase price in the event that this puppy succumbs to a genetic
abnormality within the first two years of life.  You must provide a statement from the veterinarian detailing the defect.

-        We offer no cash refunds except those specifically stated in this contract.

-        This puppy is sold as a “pet” and we do not guarantee size, show quality, or breeding ability.

-        We require, as a condition of the health warranty, that you continue to give your puppy NuVet Vitamins.  Go to www.

-        If your puppy is being transported to you via the airlines or any type of ground transportation, final payment, including all
transportation fees, must be received no later than seven days prior to shipping unless other arrangements are made in
advance.  

-        Deposits are non-refundable except in the event that something happens to the puppy while in our care.  We guarantee
that your deposit will hold your puppy for you until he is ready to travel to your home.

-        We will work with you to secure transportation of your puppy, however, the most important factor is the well-being of
the puppy, so we do have the final say on transportation arrangements.  

-        Your puppy is considered to be on a spay and neuter agreement unless other arrangements are made in advance.  This
means that you are required to have your puppy spayed or neutered by six months of age.  In the meantime, we will hold his
registration application.  Once your puppy is spayed or neutered, send us a copy of the receipt from the vet and we will send
you his registration information.  If you do not wish to have your puppy spayed/neutered please contact us BEFORE filling out
this contract and we will send you a different contract.

-        Should you find yourself unable to keep this puppy, you must contact us immediately.  Buyer must NOT relinquish this
puppy to a rescue or animal shelter of any kind, EVER!  The puppy must be returned to us unless a new owner has already
been found for the puppy.  We must approve any new owners before the puppy can be transferred to them.  No refund or
replacement applies to a puppy that is returned or re-homed under these circumstances.
